38 years ago, a young artist called Tom Lindhardt Wills witnessed an event which changed the world of children's play and outdoor play equipment. One of his bright, large sculptures had been placed in a new housing estate to add colour to the otherwise drab surroundings. Realising that children were more interested in playing on it than admiring it, he began work on creating a dedicated, child-focused playground equipment company - KOMPAN.
